Webinar Time!

I have returned to professional development; I am back presenting webinars!

Join me for a new topic, a very relevant and needed discussion on the unique needs of the Latin/Latine/Latinx community.

My hope and goal: a focused opportunity to evaluate and recommit ourselves to differentiation–every child deserves a holistic educational environment that reaffirms their potential, and propels their learning.

I’m Back!

As posted previously: I moved to Istanbul, Turkey. I had measured and budgeted to return here (to the website/blog) by mid-to-late September 2021 with lots to share . . . and I do have lots to share, I’m a little late . . .

My first teaching post in Istanbul was not ideal. I love living in Istanbul, but I wanted more than the weekends to cultivate a life outside of work here. So I looked for something else, and I found an incredible opportunity–personally and professionally; I am pursuing a position at the university level, a dream role.

In between my original post and my upcoming new post, I have some transition time to catch-up here, to reignite a discussion on classrooms, teaching, standards–all things education-based.

I hope your school year has started off a little less bumpy than mine. I hope your classrooms are progressing nicely, and that you are able to teach in a place that maximizes learning and growth–for you and your students.

Summer time . . . New Year, New Job

I have done my best to post here and there through the summer because August and September start a really big chapter in my teaching career: new school, new location, new life!

I am starting a long-held personal and professional goal: to work abroad/to teach abroad.

I am moving from California, USA to Turkey. I will be going back in the classroom, back in kindergarten–where my career began–but in a whole new country! I am allowing myself some time away from writing to enjoy the remainder of my break, and to allow myself the necessary time to transition into this new world and chapter of my life; I will be back in mid-to-late September with new content–really new, as I imagine this experience will give me a whole lot of learning to write about!

Summer Learning!

These webinars have served as a tremendous opportunity for growth. I have had to review what is most important to my work and research for every topic. I have had to play with technology and visual organization. I have had to rehearse definitions, arguments, concepts, frameworks, and possible Q & A. I feel more and more prepared, more and more inspired with each presentation–and I hope you can join me! Sign-up, and/or share this opportunity with a friend!

Summer Learning: Webinars

As previously mentioned and announced, I have been fortunate enough to be able to take all my learning and passion into professional development training for my colleagues and fellow educators around the nation–most recently and specifically into webinar presentations.

All teachers know that while summer is our official break time, multiple opportunities come out for learning and preparation for the following year during summer.

I have been asked, and I am thrilled to present, two webinars next week on two demographics of students near and dear to my heart, my work, my experience, and my community: BIPOC students and immigrant students.
